Version 1.1.1 What's new? Inventory, combat, new spell, trading, two weapons, potions!!!
A new release is live today! 1.1.1 version comes with a bunch of new features!
I will tell you with images what they are, 'cos I think it's more fun that giving you a list.
First is: you can now re-enter the cities! So after getting your money and items with your sweat and blood, you don't have to rush to another dangerous cavern and risk dying so easy. Take your time at the cities, recover and get equipped before you go! And soon, when I add more stories, also spend more time just enjoying the good company.
When in the dungeons, after defeating a monster, you can get loot! This was an improvement on the previous public release (1.0.17). But I remember this here so you understand the new features.
The monsters can leave loot or not, and when they do, it can be money, that you just grab and is added to your gold stat. Others, it will be items. You can now sell those items later in the cities' bazaar.
A combat improvement! Now the secondary weapon is implemented. Sometimes you will find some monsters that are immune to certain kind of weapons (for example, blade ones) but can be hurt by using another kind (for example, smashing ones).
That's why there is a secondary weapon! So now some things change: when you find a weapon you can take it and replace your main weapon as before, or take it as secondary weapon. You can, as before, just keep on walking and not take it.
The screen will inform you about the features of the found weapon, and your main and secondary one, so you can compare. I am also working on a more visual UI to compare them.
Remember that the found weapon will replace one of them, so be wise!
The backpack icon that appears in the Exploration screen, and now in Combat too, now opens the inventory like in 1.0.17, but now you have new options.
You can see now that there's new icons in the center bottom, showing your weapons (main and secondary). Click on one of them, and they will swap. So your secondary will become main, and vice versa.
The icons of weapons show the look of the actual weapons. The other icon is the same that you already know, which displays detailed information of the main weapon.
To use a weapon in combat, you have to select it as your main. The one with the icon with yellow border is the main one. You can click the other to swap.
Once you did, you can return to combat or exploration with the Back button.
The Bazaars in the cities changed. Now you must select "buy and sell" or keep on walking.
If you enter the shop, you can see on the left your inventory, and in the right, the Bazaar items. It's similar to the loot screen, but this time it's about buying and selling.
There's information on how many slots you have free in your inventory, to carry objects, and the gold you have.
When you click on an item in the bazaar, a screen will popup. If you have enough money, it will show the option to buy.
There's also two new exciting items in the shops: the ball and chain weapon, and the acid ball spell.
The ball and chain weapon is worth its money. Just get some gold, sell things, and buy it!
In the shops, sometimes you will find a spell scroll! Later, I may put these scrolls at some quests or places. For now I added one that will teach Sioul to cast the Acid Ball spell.
Again, buy it with the gold you get at the dungeons or selling stuff from the loots, as it's a quite powerful spell for combat!
When you buy something at the shops, once you return to the exploration screen, open the inventory. Then in the case of scrolls, you can learn the spell. This will happen only if your mastery level is enough. For now, I set it low for this spell so you can enjoy it.
By using the "Use" button on a spell, it will be added to the wizard's spells book, and after that you can use it on situations as all the other spells you learned.
Here's the acid ball being shot at a monster.
You can see here that there is a backpack icon in the combat screen. If you click it, it will open the inventory so you can drink a potion to recover mana or life, or set as main weapon the secondary one. In some future moment it will also allow the feature to use some objects against the monsters or for other things (think for example the classic of using a mirror against the medusa, and so).
Another kind of items that some monsters leave and sometimes are in the shops to be bought are potions. There are potions for mana, life, stamina, and for curing poison and illness.
But the new thing in 1.1.1 is that you can now use them in the middle of combat!
Remember that at the shops, you can drop items (losing them) to make space, or sell them (getting gold for it). On the inventory you can drop and use them. Using a potion makes you drink it, and using a scroll can make you learn a spell.
There are also some minor things, like the cog icon (between the eye and the spellbook) that will lead you to the settings to set music, fx volume, and go to the menu screen (exit game). Remember that if you exit game without finishing an exploration, next time you will be sent to the start (this is to prevent cheating).
Which one of these features does excite you most? Have any good idea for something related! Go to the Steam community page and suggest! :)
And thanks again for your support and playing it, my dear adventurers!
