What is the message of your game?
These days we have some polemics in several game communities. It's around the content of those games.
I will not enter in that debate, but I just say: what kind of people is your game aimed at? What is your creation bringing to the world? Does playing it improve or worsen the people who play?
I myself decide to try to bring more light to the world. And I hope my game is for people who have lost hope to recover it. Or people who already enjoy a better view, more optimistic, about who we are or how we should be. I don't want to bring them down or tempt them with dark stuff.
So my fantasy world is not a grim dark one, but a noblebright one.
The message of the game (beyond being fun) is this:
- Promote a healthy couple relationship, that will be shown by Sioul and Tamzyn along the game. The challenge here is to still show Tamzyn as feminine in a high degree, being independent, strong, and brave. I want to show a strong woman that has feminine power. And the other challenge is Sioul, being masculine, but not violent, possessive, or the typical jerk that we are used to see in romance stories, but a tenacious, decisive and strong force in the couple. Both protecting each other, loving each other, respecting each other.
- Show femininity in all its facets as a force of nature, as something beautiful, creative, and that has nothing to hide, both in body and soul. Tamzyn will show, and the dryads, that feminine energy is a force of creation, protection, life, and deserves respect, and is half the power of the universe itself.
