My 2026 Roadmap in art, game development and vision

During this year 2026, I want to make progress in many aspects of everything I do.

IN MY GAME

These days I'm making the illustrations for the Emerald City chapters of Caverns and Dryads, my game on Steam. They may take me several weeks. I hope not too much, but they are looking good.

Once I finish these illustrations and incorporate a few more features and adjustments into Caverns and Dryads, I want to start promoting it in a big way.

Some players have already been buying the DLCs, so when I receive my first checks, I’m going to invest them in promoting the game.

If I manage to bring my game to more players, it makes my universe more alive. I love receiving feedback and feeling that I’m giving something valuable to the people who play or read my story. I create to express myself, but seeing others live inside my creations is something that makes my world more real and profound.

When everything is ready, I’m going to make a major release. The game will have many features. However, I will keep adding more. Caverns and Dryads is the kind of game that benefits from having more and more things to do.

I have planned story twists and situations that will require additional programming to integrate into the game. Some of these will be: support for owning a house in the game world, support for kidnapping and rescue, more combat features, forging your own weapons and potions… There is a lot to do.

And on top of that, more content: more places, expanding the map, more story, more events, more monsters, more combat features, more weapons, potions… This way, Caverns and Dryads will grow both in scope and in depth. Yes, even more.

NOVEL

The game dictates the novel and grows in parallel with the story. When I have enough material to create a volume, I will publish the first Caverns and Dryads novel.

I find that writing a story inside my game allows me to reread it, revise it, and edit it many times.

To create the novel, I must revise the chapters even more. There are also scenes and situations that the game narrates visually. In a book, those situations must be described. Others must be expanded.

Compared to the game, the novel will introduce added situations, new descriptions… possibly content that is not in the game, or some new episodes, or situations in more detail. There may be more development for some characters.

I may distribute it on Steam as well, and on Lulu or directly on my website. I’m not sure yet. But during 2026 it’s possible that at some point I’ll begin some early promotion.

EXPRESSING MYSELF ON MY BLOG

This blog already has nearly 40,000 views. That’s a lot for a personal blog in 2025. If you have a personal blog or an art portfolio, let me tell you that it’s the best thing you can do.

It’s false that a blog has no purpose. If you think about it, all the content you give away to social platforms falls into oblivion. It gets buried under a mountain of constant posts. Search engines don’t even read it. On a blog, this doesn’t happen.

This year I’m going to post about worldbuilding, about my creative process. Not from a technical point of view, but from vision. I’m not trying to make tutorials. What I want is for the people who appreciate what I do to have a perspective on how I come to envision and create these things.

IN ART

Everything is born from my art. And my art is born from having the time to create it. In this, using very basic generative tools running on my own computer has been essential. And the most important thing has been being able to merge them with a work routine and drawing, composition, and expressive skills that I already had.

Being able to train my own styles and concepts helps me a lot to show what I want.

I think people are perceiving the care, the human work, and the originality. My images are born from prior work. Then they are composed and combined with other arts. Finally, they have a post-work phase. And above all, they come from a universe that is Caverns and Dryads, which I have accessed through personal imagination.

COME WITH ME INTO THE CHASM

So in 2026 I want to express my personal vision even more. I’m going to do it through the game, through pictorial images, and also through photorealistic ones.

I want to publish more images on this blog, make wallpapers, and maybe other materials. I also want to create visual poems. In those poems I want to evoke emotions in the manner of a haiku, with the minimum necessary to make you dream.

In Caverns and Dryads I want to continue moving players emotionally. To show what love, triumph, mystery, magic are…

I would like you to come with me. So grab your things, and let’s go down the slope, through that tunnel… Yes, between those fork-shaped trees. Look one last time at those yellow flowers, because soon we will be underground.
