The next features I may add to Caverns and Dryads 2.1

Caverns and Dryads  is now on version 2.0 which includes the adventure of the first book. For the next one, some things can happen that need more features. There are also features I may add just because they make the game more fun and varied.

My ideas are these:

  • Houses: this may be a big update. Potentially it opens many possibilities, like forging weapons if you add a forge to the house. Or making potions in the lab, and a lot more.
  • Skills: skills that you can train. For example, for cooking the bones or other things and make a soup, creating a food item from it. Or to climb, or other things.
  • More inventory items: like a mirror, or some other drinks or food, or some potions of other types.
  • More obstacles and mini games in addition to the door that you find often. I have types already made for a crate, a river, and other things, but they are not yet implemented.
  • Random secret places: the idea is that you may find (or maybe get a map to find, or access it some way, or through a skill, I don't know) an entrance to a mini-level that is random. It can be very dangerous or simple. I think they should be more dangerous, but with the possibility to get back to the main level (so it's a sort of election to risk your life seriously or not). 
  • More special places. And develop the stories that happen and the events that may happen in those places. This may enrich the story and the game.
  • Implementing all the combat features. There's space to add impedimenta, bonuses and other things.
  • Sub-bosses in some levels if your stats already reached certain number, for example 15 or more. This may activate the fun for advanced players that have become too powerful. Maybe also add some other balancing features. But these have to be rightly designed.
On the long term, there are other features that I will add. I don't know why because these days I am developing the full plot of the next 3 parts (so far they are 4). In some moments, some things will happen that need features of special meaning:
  • Rescue: Tamzyn or Sioul may be captured by an enemy so you have to control the other character and rescue your companion. The event may have two very different flavors: when Sioul comes to the rescue, and when it's Tamzyn. Either way you won't have the skills of the other character available. This is exciting because for a while it changes the game dynamics in combat.
  • Epic scenes: combat mechanics for an epic chapter, in which you have to defend your position against a big amount of enemies.
