What is next for Caverns and Dryads: upcoming features

Over the past few weeks I’ve been working on the upcoming chapters of the game’s story while you continue exploring Caverns and Dryads. 

Since writing narrative takes its own rhythm, I’m also preparing new features and content.

After giving it some thought, I’ve decided that the next update will focus on expanding the job quest system.  

The first batch of new quests will revolve around the special locations already in the game, such as the Council of Magic, the Palace of the Purple King, and a few others. When you visit these places, you’ll be able to pick up missions that send you to face unique monsters or corrupted warlocks.  Here’s the idea behind the system:  

  • The game will evaluate the current strength of your characters. Based on that, it will generate a mission tailored to your level. 
  • It will then craft a short narrative hook, choose an appropriate enemy, and place the encounter somewhere in the world.  
  • Enemies will scale with your power, so even players with several stats at 15 or above should still find a meaningful challenge.  
  • Rewards will scale as well: tougher missions will grant better loot.  

Once you finish a job, you can return to those special locations and request another. As usual, if you’re already engaged in a task, you won’t receive new offers unless you abandon the one you’re working on.  

And… a small secret: in a few days I’ll also be announcing a special event, so keep an eye out.
