Subterranean weekly notes - May 28, 2026
This is this week’s projects and thoughts post. It feels great to post them here instead of throwing them downhill across social networks.
SOLAS COMPOSER
I feel very happy. I’ve been able to get in touch with the fantastic composer of the music I use in Caverns and Dryads.
As you know, I made the whole game myself (programming, graphics, writing), but the music is under a CC BY 4.0 license, as you can read on the game’s page. In the menu you can read “Music by Solas Composer” and it links to the credits (since Steam doesn’t allow me to link directly to a streaming site, and he has several).
The music, as I said, is by Solas Composer. He has composed music for legendary games like Dark Souls or Expedition 33! And his music is the soul and inspiration behind everything I do.
Caverns and Dryads has an immersive atmosphere thanks to that music accompanying the graphics and mechanics. It fits wonderfully.
If everything goes well, this week I’ll tell you more about my favorite composer, and maybe there will be a surprise!
For now, you can listen to his compositions here:

LORE FOR SOCIAL MEDIA
I’ve found a format that is comfortable for me to post on social networks: the slideshow. It also seems to be liked by people, and it fits those who are less anxious. And it’s aesthetically beautiful.
So I made myself a template, and that way I can send posts without breaking my state of inspiration.
I sent the first one to Tiktok a few hours ago and it already has 1400 views, so I think it’s a good start.
This is the format, down below. I know it raises more questions than answers, but that’s the purpose: to spark curiosity.
THE NEXT FEATURES
This week I plan to work more intensely on the game’s new features. One of them is procedural bosses.
But I plan to add more to make a major release that brings more life to the universe.
I used to like an old game called “Pirates!” by the legendary Sid Meier. In it, you went to taverns and heard rumors that gave you important information you could use to find treasures.
I’m thinking about that kind of thing. Adding procedural bosses, tavern rumors, and some mini‑game fitting the taverns and other things.
I’ll make a specific post as I design it, so you can get an idea.
And that’s it. See you soon, adventurers! :)
