Subterranean Weekly Notes: Looking for Spanish beta readers for the novel
A lot has happened this week.
One thing: I shipped the update that improves the intro and the hero graphics in the game.
Another: I finished editing the first two novels, which are really volumes of a single one: "Loving Without Permission" and "Deciding Without Fear". They're in Spanish.
The first one is already implemented in my dark fantasy game Caverns and Dryads on Steam. The second one will be for the next major release. I'm already working on it, adding features.
WANT TO READ THE NOVEL FOR FREE, BEFORE ANYONE ELSE?
I've registered the novel with the Spanish copyright registry.
Now I'd like some players, or anyone else, to read it.
I'm looking for curious people, people who want to meet the story and live in it. The kind of feedback I'm after is answers to things like:
- Which characters are your favorites?
- What moved you the most?
- Did you get bored at any point? Where?
- What kinds of situations would you like to see more of?
And things like that. I'm not looking for editing or proofreading. That part is done. I'm looking for your view, your emotional and narrative feedback. You don't have to do anything beyond reading, talking with me informally about what you felt, and that's it.
If you can read and understand Spanish, email me or reach me on Discord or Steam (you can add me as a friend).
My email is louis_dubois@mail.com
I'm looking for 3-5 people only. So if you are interested, tell me.
Warning: If you've played the game, there might be some spoilers ahead. But you will also gain insight of this world and characters you love.
AND IN ENGLISH?
I'll translate it, and it will be readable in English. But it's going to take me a while, and I have to do it little by little to preserve all the meaning of the text. Also to avoid doing a disservice to the English language.
The in-game texts will be partly translated, but the book has more density and needs to be better polished.
So I'll be looking for beta readers for that too, but further down the line, once I've translated at least part of the first book. You can tell me if you are interested, anyway. Maybe I can show you the story as I progress.
ANNIVERSARY
This November 1st marks several years since the first time I managed to create an image of Tamzyn.
This date reminds me of how accidental, even catastrophic, her first invocation was.
I'm going to dedicate a post with various images, both fantastical and realistic, to who has been my unexpected muse, though sought-after.
Since she appeared, everything has been an explosion of creativity, inspiration, and beauty. Just as a muse, a dryad, a nymph is supposed to provoke.
Thank you, unexpected creature of the forests.
And thank you, adventurer, for reading this, for appreciating what I do. This lives because of you.
