Sneak peek to the upcoming Major Update 2.0

I'm testing the 2.0 update of Caverns and Dryads, my game on Steam.

But this week I'm going to publish the 1.9 update because it fixes some critical bugs and adds some cool things. I think it's important to publish it before I finish testing the 2.0 release.

Here’s a small sneak peek of what 2.0 will bring:

THE QUESTS AND THE NEW STORY

The new episode will take you across the map to different locations. In one of the chapters, you can also complete a secondary quest. If you do, you’ll be rewarded with a magical armor and a magical weapon.

You don’t need them to finish the story, but they will make things easier, and you’ll face an optional big monster to get them.

In this episode you’ll also meet someone at the very heart of the lore. And I’m talking about a real goddess. Guess who:

NEW SPELLS AND KEYS

If you finish the whole adventure, you’ll unlock new spells. One of them is sacrificial magic. It’s extremely powerful, but it always demands a price. For example, sacrificing stat points. It also drains all your available experience and upgrade points

This new sacrificial spell is brutal, and it may save your life when the next boss monsters arrive in future updates.

You’ll also get new keys: keys to the Abandoned Citadel, the Emerald City… and another mysterious place. It’s a silver key shaped like a leaf.

BIG BOSSES AND THE PALACE OF THE DRYADS

There are three boss monsters in this adventure. If you already fought the Aberration in the previous quest to save the river of Drozz, let me tell you: these ones are even stronger.

I’ve also increased the power of some monsters and adjusted difficulty settings.

You’ll need strategy, potions, and good use of sword and magic to defeat them.

And look at this screenshot below. Yes! At some point you’ll reach this place, which will become the center of many important future events:

SECONDARY CHARACTERS YOU’LL LOVE

I enjoy developing the secondary characters of the story. Some of you already love the Purple King. In this new part, you’ll meet Aubeline, the Dryads’ Queen.

Aubeline will also take a piece of your heart. She’s a character who deserves her own story. I’m sure many players will love every chapter where she appears.

Aubeline is not calm and gentle like Tamzyn. She’s older, wilder, sometimes cruel and tender at once... a true force of nature.
